It is made up of three main branches: the executive, headed by the Premier of Nova Scotia and his cabinet of ministers, responsible for policy decision-making and the day-to-day management of government affairs; the legislature and the judiciary; members of the Legislative Assembly who represent different constituencies in the province; and the Judiciary, responsible for the administration of justice in Nova Scotia, which comprises several levels of courts, including the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia, which is the highest court in the province.
