The Opportunity
Our Canadian Regulated Business Development and Partnerships team is looking to add an #EnergyProblemSolver in Calgary to support growth and capital projects across our portfolio.
Reporting to the Director, Regulated Business Development and Partnerships, the Business Development Analyst is a driven and resourceful individual who will work in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to advance new and in-flight opportunities, supporting the development and execution of the capacity capital expansion goals within Canada Gas.
Success in this role requires a strong commercial acumen and understanding of our corporate strategy; a focus on efficient and effective engagement of internal stakeholders; informal leadership of multi-discipline teams to deliver on Canada Gas capital programs.
What you'll do
With a clear understanding and knowledge of our corporate and department strategy and financial metrics, support the development of strategies to deliver capital growth opportunities that align with corporate strategic and financial goals
Support coordination of dedicated cross-functional teams through prospecting, development, and execution of projects; developing an understanding of commercial strategy, key sensitivities, and impact on system capacity, corporate capital allocation and financial metrics for Canada Gas capital projects
Support the liaison between commercial marketing, capacity management/system design, Canada Gas Projects, legal, regulatory and other corporate function teams in prospecting and early project development matters such as obtaining analysis and optimization of facilities to serve new market opportunities, cost estimates, financial models, and preparation of materials for the Capital Allocation Process that lead to management's successful approval of projects
Support the timely progression of capital programs through the Commercial Delivery Standard through Prospecting, Proposal and Implementation stage gates, including responsibility for the preparation of governance materials
Manage change: Adapt to challenges and obstacles that arise throughout project progression, support problem-solving activities with internal stakeholders to minimize negative impact and the adjustment of project strategy, priorities and communication plans
Support the monthly Canada Gas small scope capital process and the optimization of the small scope portfolio; progressing selected projects from prospecting through to execution
Maintain strong internal stakeholder communication and engagement through positive and productive relationships.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Marketing, or related disciplines
5 years of progressive and proven experience in natural gas transportation
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrate creativity and ability to thrive in ambiguity
Display passion and motivation to contribute to a commercially oriented organization
