The Opportunity

A full-time position is available in the Commercial Asset Planning (CAP) East team within the Capacity Management Department. Working in the CAP team will provide the opportunity for the successful candidate to expand their knowledge of the regulated pipeline business and the connected customer industry. The successful candidate will support the multi-year asset plan as well as energy and emissions cost forecasting and management to deliver on commercial requirements. This role is focused on the Mainline and TQM systems.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate with S&TS stakeholders to support establishment of an optimal multi-year maintenance program that enables required system performance

  • Conduct hydraulic modelling and analysis to support commercial decisions for the assets

  • Evaluate commercial risk related to equipment failure and GPMC program scope and delivery

  • Assist with the development and optimization of multi-year operating strategies for capacity and emissions management

  • Support the development of electricity, fuel, and storage costs forecasts for near-term budgeting and long-term strategic planning

  • Aid in electricity, fuel, and storage-related contract management and accounting processes such as variance explanations and invoicing

  • Coordinate the timely updates of operating agreements with customers and interconnecting pipes

  • Collaborate with Operations Planning to ensure alignment of planning strategies and program implementation

  • Collaborate with System Design to establish long term performance requirements for the system and facilities

  • Interact and collaborate with a variety of teams including Commercial, Regulatory, Legal, S&TS, Operations, Sustainability and Energy Transition as well as external customers

  • Perform other tasks as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical are preferred)

  • A minimum of 2 years of progressive, relevant experience (additional recognized professional education or training may offset experience requirement)

  • Eligible to register with APEGA

  • Self-motivated and strong analytical skills

  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills

  • Able to work and contribute within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the Mainline and TQM systems

  • Business acumen with knowledge of pipeline infrastructure and system operations

  • Pipeline hydraulic simulation experience

  • Understanding of risk management concepts and familiarity with the Operational Risk Matrix

  • Understanding of the S&TS organization and GPMC planning process.
