The Customer Engagement Team (CET) is responsible for leading the design and delivery of a more meaningful, unified, and personalized customer experience with grower and retail customers across all touchpoints. The strategic focus is on winning the loyalty of customers, drawing upon a deep understanding of their needs, and building an emotional connection to the BASF brand, based on the quality, depth and intimacy of the customer experience.

As a Customer Engagement Manager, you create chemistry by...

  • Leading a team of Customer Experience Specialists responsible for the creation, design, setup and deployment of data-driven marketing programs designed to nurture the customer relationship through every stage of the lifecycle, from acquisition to retention bringing the BASF AP Canada brand narrative to life.
  • Working directly with Market and Brand Managers along with the external communications team to map marketing strategy and requirements to an annual customer strategy plan that encompasses multiple communication channels including e-mail, mobile messaging, social media and addressable print media such as direct mail.
  • Collaborating closely with other internal stakeholders, such as field sales and technical service, and with external partners providing a range of marketing-related services from data management to customer care management to research and analytics to CXM program design and production.
  • Coaching, mentoring, and motivating the CET staff as well as serving as a subject matter expert and thought leader on customer strategy, relationship management and experience design.
  • Being responsible for development of program measurement strategies; creation of test and learn plans; and the setup, review and analysis of performance results reporting.
  • Serving as the lead to the marketing and events agencies of record to ensure a positive and collaborative relationship between the agencies.

If you have...

  • A Bachelor's degree in agriculture, marketing or business; MBA an asset.
  • 10 years' career experience in commercially oriented roles in the agriculture industry (preferably in crop protection and seed) in Marketing, Sales, and/or Communications areas.
  • Experience leading a high-performance team with leadership, coaching and team development.
  • Experience with customer marketing, data-driven campaign management and execution, digital marketing and CRM marketing platform integration.
  • Direct agriculture experience engaging with grower and retail customers.
  • Strong strategic thinking aptitude with an orientation toward process development. Innate resourcefulness and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong knowledge of marketing automation capabilities and digital media including e-mail and mobile marketing. Deep understanding of customer engagement and marketing communication best practices.
  • Experience translating data analysis into actionable marketing recommendations and presentations. A passion for relationship and digital marketing with an understanding of database analysis.
  • Experience with in-person events, virtual knowledge sharing, and experiential strategy would be considered an asset.
  • Exceptional communication skills (oral & written) as well as interpersonal and people management skills with a natural affinity for stakeholder relations.
  • Strong collaboration and leadership skills with ability to foster innovation, embrace and implement change, while working with multiple stakeholders.
  • Budget management across multiple teams and functions.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and web-based applications.
