The Opportunity
We are currently accepting applications for a motivated Educational Lab Technician to join our School of Construction team. This position supports several programs across the School of Construction.
Reporting to the Academic Chair, you would be accountable for promoting a positive and interactive learning environment with hands-on learning. You will support faculty by ensuring our labs are fully operational, stocked with supplies, and prepared for classes. The Role
Work with faculty to ensure labs are stocked with appropriate supplies and ready for class
Prepare labs through equipment maintenance and cleaning duties
Prepare additional study and lab materials for faculty
Provide ongoing support, guidance and advice to faculty and management
Maintain close contact with relevant industry sectors
Assess program designs and continually work to keep SAIT current and on the leading edge of technology and skill within the programs you support
Ability to continually upgrade knowledge to meet the needs of the students and faculty as required
Perform related duties as assigned to meet the emerging needs of SAIT and its students
Qualifications & Experience
A minimum of 5 years' experience in a related field
Journeyperson Red Seal or technologist diploma in a Construction related industry is considered an asset
Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
Must take initiative and demonstrate strong problem solving
Strong time management and organizational skills
Aptitude for working well within a team environment
Possess a positive, respectful attitude, and a high commitment to student success and collaboration

Salary range: $55,182.40 - $73,257.60
