Electrical Engineer

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer in our Calgary office to grow our electrical team. You would work on complex, innovative and sustainable institutional, commercial and transportation projects from across Canada.

The opportunity:

• Electrical systems design, including power distribution system, lighting, fire alarm, grounding and bonding, lightning protection, communications systems.
• Conduct electrical system calculations such as demand load calculations, short circuit analysis, voltage drop calculations and photometric calculations
• Select electrical, communications and control equipment, coordinate with equipment vendors for the selection and specification of electrical equipment.
• Prepare contract documents detailing the electrical system designs, write technical design briefs
• Aid in the preparation of technical specifications
• Coordinate work with architects, contractors, and equipment suppliers
• Coordinate with multiple disciplines to deliver high quality, holistic and outcome driven results on projects.
• Train new graduate engineers on a variety of projects.

Is this role right for you?

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or relevant engineering field with an electrical focus
• 4+ years of experience in the built environment
• Knowledge of building services and electrical engineering fundamentals
• Experience with BIM and Revit MEP
• Eligible for an APEGA license
• Familiarity with applicable Canadian codes and standards.
• Passion for sustainability
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working
• The ability to prioritize, manage deadlines and apply organizational skills
• Good writing skills to communicate electrical systems design concepts and strategies
• Confidence in presenting information for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Calgary Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Calgary is $78,600 to $90,000 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Calgary will differ.
