The Opportunity

Our Canadian Gas Forecasting & Fundamentals Group is looking to add an Engineer, Gas Supply Analysis to the team, based in Calgary, AB.

Reporting to the Manager, Gas Supply & Demand Forecasting, this position is responsible for compiling research, providing information / critical analysis and developing short-, medium- and long-term natural gas forecasts for the organization. This is a unique opportunity to understand and forecast natural gas supply within North America.

What you will do

  • Continuously observe and update data and intelligence related to emerging trends with producers in key natural gas supply basins (the Montney, Deep Basin, Appalachia and Permian)
  • Compile and present the results of forecasts, scenarios, and observed market outcomes to support Commercial Strategy Development, Operations Planning, System Design, and regulatory applications
  • Conduct thorough research, analysis, and modeling of gas development in key geographic areas where TC Energy operates
  • Regularly interact with internal and external clients to communicate and disseminate forecasts and related data, including the development and delivery of presentations and management reports
  • Perform assessments and evaluations of how gas demand, supply, and market forces impact pipeline competition and asset utilization

Minimum Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary Degree in Engineering
  • Registered, or eligible to register, with APEGA as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in good standing
  • Six years of industry-related experience in resource development or reservoir engineering
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Strong skills with MS Office (Excel)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with PowerBI
  • Proven understanding of gas industry activities / trends and natural gas supply-demand dynamics
  • Experience manipulating large volumes of data, while maintaining accuracy in analysis
