Profile (Overview of Job)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Simulator Technician to support our flight training operations. The Simulator Technician is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and supporting simulator systems to ensure optimal functionality. This role involves a blend of technical expertise in Electronics, Avionics, and Customer Service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with and perform Preventive Maintenance tasks on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot simulator and system issues using schematic and diagnostic tools.
  • Utilize Maintenance Management System to record and track maintenance activities.
  • Complete all designated training activities.
  • Perform preflight and post flight checks on designated simulators, including basic visual alignments and automated QTG's.
  • Support with refurbishment and hardware modifications.
  • Train on and comply with companies Quality Management System.
  • Provide timely customer service and support.
  • Perform housekeeping functions to maintain the simulators as required.
  • Perform logistics duties, including parts received, repair, and testing/validation.
  • Perform administrative tasks as required.
  • Perform tasks to support the technical services group as required.
  • Flexibility to work the required shifts. Rotating shift (days, evening and nights) including weekends.

Qualifications

  • 2 years technical degree in electronics or equivalent training.
  • Technical diploma in electronics preferably in Avionics.

Skills

  • 1-year direct simulator experience or 2-3 years maintenance experience in aviation avionics/electronic systems.
  • Demonstrate ability to interpret system prints and schematics.
  • Proficiency in operating test equipment (oscilloscope, multi-meter, signal generator, logic analyzer, etc.).
  • Knowledge in analog and digital theory.
  • Computer literate (PC and / or computer mainframe/architecture).
  • Ability to troubleshoot software issues.
  • Understanding of networking communication.
  • Proficiency in soldering and circuit board repairs.
