The Opportunity

Our Process Safety & Services group is looking to add an Incident Management Lead to the Incident Management, Analytics & Reporting team, based in Calgary, AB, Houston, TX or Charleston, WV.

Reporting to the Manager, Incident Management, Analytics & Reporting, this position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the policies, procedures, and governance framework for managing incidents and emergencies across the organization. It serves as a subject matter expert and advisor to leaders and teams on best practices and compliance requirements related to incident investigations.

What you will do

  • Establish and maintain the organizational incident investigation / management governance policies, procedures, and protocols, ensuring alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements
  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on the incident investigation framework, roles and responsibilities, and response protocols
  • Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to incident response teams during incidents, ensuring effective coordination and decision-making
  • Analyze incident data and reports to identify trends, lessons learned, and opportunities for process improvements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Safety, Security, Business Continuity) to integrate incident investigation practices into broader risk management and resilience strategies
  • Stay up to date on industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to incident management
  • Represent the organization in external forums, industry associations, and regulatory engagements related to incident management
  • Continuously review and update the incident management governance framework to ensure it remains effective and adaptable to changing business needs and evolving threats

Minimum Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary degree in a related field
  • 6 or more years of related experience
  • Demonstrated experience with incident investigation / management governance policies, procedures, and protocols

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineering Degree and registered, or eligible to register, with APEGA as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in good-standing (Canadian Applicants)
  • Proven experience developing and delivering training programs

This position requires candidates to:

  • This position will involve travel and overnight stays away from home (estimated up to 20% of work schedule)
  • Have current, valid authorization to travel internationally (including but not limited to Canada, US and Mexico)
  • Successfully complete a Criminal background check (US Applicants)
