Reporting to the Rebuild Lead, the Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the site activities of the haul truck assembly and rebuild program, including supervision of all contractors at the project site, located at Teck's Highland Valley Copper mine. By supporting the safe and efficient execution of the program scope, the coordinator will help Teck deliver a strategy for cost-effective and sustainable mining equipment rebuilds.

Working a four-on (Friday to Monday) and three-off (Tuesday to Thursday) work schedule with some travel required to Calgary.

Responsibilities

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.

  • Keep track of and report on any project-related incidents to the Project Lead and team. Engage site EHS team to investigate incidents and identify lessons learned.

  • Develop and maintain a detailed execution plan and schedule for the execution of time-sensitive work affecting asset downtime. Report daily to program leadership and site stakeholders on progress and risks to this plan.

  • Identify and proactively address any issues relating to project execution as needed. Escalate to the Project Lead in a timely manner as appropriate.

  • Supervise multiple contractors and vendors and manage the rebuild site to ensure work is conducted safely and in accordance with the project scope and schedule.

  • Complete quality assurance checks in line with the Quality Management Plan

  • Oversee the handling of parts, materials, and equipment at the construction site in alignment with the project execution plan.

  • Coordinate the efforts, schedule and reporting of contractors.

  • Assist with site tasks to support site personnel and ensure the effective execution of work

  • Undertake daily loss tracking and barriers reporting to identify any gaps and enable planning optimization on future projects.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant work experience

  • High School Diploma, with preference given to those with a trade certificate, or relevant degree or diploma.

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate contractors and vendors in a large-scale industrial or mining environment

  • Experience working in heavy industrial maintenance or fabrication facilities

  • Solid technical background working with mobile mining equipment

  • Supervisory experience in a mechanical/electrical capacity, or project execution is an asset

  • Trade experience with mobile mining equipment, particularly with haul trucks, is an asset

  • Mines Supervisor license is an asset.

  • Experience in Project controls, specifically scheduling, is an asset

  • A valid class 5 or equivalent driver's license is required.
