Maintenance Worker II
Description
The Maintenance Worker II position is responsible for providing engineering and maintenance duties
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities includes: operating and maintaining the physical plant; assisting in the direction of contractors and trades providing support to Agapé; maintaining and repairing all hospice equipment; may also provide on call duties as requested; acts as the building Fire Marshall when working alone; provides input into incident reviews and follow-up; assists with year round grounds keeping duties and any other duties as required. Provides security support and services in the facility, specifically on weekends and statutory holidays and as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Completion of a Building Operator A or B and/or 5th Class Power Engineering program required.
- Additional trade such as Plumber, Electrician, Carpenter an asset.
- 3-5 years' experience in the operation and maintenance of a commercial or health care facility
PREFERRED SKILLS/CAPABILITIES:
- Must be self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision
- Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively with other members of the interdisciplinary team
- Familiar with established federal, provincial, and civic legislation, rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal
- Must be skilled in the use of hand and power tools
