Your Opportunity

We are looking for a Manager BI Dashboard & Reporting. In this role you will be working very closely with our Application Architects, Technical Leads, BI/DW Developers, and Application Managers to produce solutions that meet the requirements of our business users as well as align with the enterprise strategy. The Dashboard & Reporting Manager is expected to provide Technical/Project oversight of development initiatives and operations related to our Enterprise Dashboard & Reporting solutions.

In this role you will also coordinate with operation and support and other teams to ensure alignment on development standards as well as smooth transition from development to operations support.

The Dashboard & Reporting Manager is responsible for managing their direct reports' career development and advancement, monitoring their quality of work and workload.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the application managers and technical leads to ensure that team's processes and deliverables align with best practices and the BI application architecture.

  • Participate in the oversight of technical upgrades, implementation of new BI-related products and tech stack changes. Help develop a technical transition plan ensuring a smooth transition of solutions to production.

  • Manage the delivery of our solutions according to Stantec's SDLC and change management processes.

  • Own the design and code development standards and practices; and ensure adoption across teams (development and support).

  • Resolve obstacles for the team members.

  • Provide guidance, coaching, feedback, and support to team members.

  • Establish and support career development plans with employees.

  • Perform quality reviews on the teams' deliverables and coach other senior resources to do the same.

  • Communicate risks and issues and recommend solutions to key stakeholders and management.

  • Participate on the Management Teams to collaborate with other teams on the oversight of our applications to better manage priorities, resources and cross project dependencies.

  • Keep peers and managers informed on the status of issues.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Creative problem solver with strong communication skills and good business acumen.

  • Highly self-motivated and self-directed.

  • Experience leading a Business Intelligence development team.

  • Experience working in a team-oriented, highly collaborative environment.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Strong soft skills and ability to empower team members as well as motivate them to achieve organizational goals.

  • Ability to coach, guide, and provide constructive feedback to team members.

  • Experience in all aspects of software development lifecycle following best practice methodologies like the Agile practices.

  • Understanding of ITIL practices.

  • Strong knowledge and experience in Oracle Business Intelligence tools and solutions (OBIA, OBIEE, OAS, OAC), and any (or all) of the Oracle Ebusiness Suite modules, EPM, Essbase, Oracle Database and PL/SQL and other related tools.

  • Strong organizational, management, analytical, and problem solving/troubleshooting skills.

  • Experience in software versioning and revision control systems (GIT, STAT, Bitbucket).

  • Experience using Atlassian productions (Jira, Confluence)

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • 10 Experience managing IT teams.

Salary Range(s):

  • Lower Mainland $128,800 - Lower Mainland $193,100 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in BC (Lower Mainland includes Vancouver & Burnaby)

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
