As a Cloud DevOps Manager for our Optik TV Video service, you will be responsible for the cloud infrastructure for our TV media platforms to ensure it reaches and scales to millions of consumers watching Live TV and On-Demand sports, entertainment and news. This team is a part of our Entertainment & Connected Home DevOps team, which is responsible for the end-to-end technology development and operations of TELUS' Optik TV services, broadband network capabilities, and smart home solutions.

All our teams work in cloud native environments, so you will have freedom to leverage the most innovative cloud technologies, integrating solutions from the best vendors selected by our teams.


You'll interact with the leadership and cross-functional teams (product, engineering, architecture, operations, other infrastructure teams, project management) to develop the strategy and lead the execution of our cloud infrastructure.


Here's how:

  • Lead, mentor and inspire a diverse team of DevOps software engineers, ensuring that a DevOps and Agile mindset is at the front of all project work
  • Build, deploy, operate and optimize our Cloud infrastructure that provides high availability, quality and continuous operations meeting critical level metrics for a 24/7 internet TV service
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and priorities in order to coordinate and meet their needs for infrastructure, CI/CD, security, observability, change management, releases, reliability, scalability and incidents
  • Select and collaborate with external vendor partners to meet solution requirements

Qualifications

You're the missing piece of the puzzle with these skills:

  • AWS or GCP IaaS and PaaS: infrastructure and networking
  • Working knowledge of IP networking and security principles
  • Microservice architectures and API management
  • SQL and noSQL databases
  • Microservice decomposition patterns and maturity model
  • CI/CD Pipelines experience
  • Agile Development (SAFE)
  • 3+ years of relevant technical team leadership experience
  • Strong communicator, confident with presenting material to peers and senior management
  • Experience with leading a team and collaborating with internal/external teams across multiple time zones and countries
  • Experience with on-call operations and incident resolution
  • Experience working with vendors to define MSAs and onboarding new technologies
  • Experience deploying automation, improving reliability and optimizing cloud costs
  • Bachelors in Software or Electrical Engineering Degree, Computer Science

  • Knowledge of video delivery architectures

  • Agile / PMP certifications
