About this opportunity:
Our Downstream Commercial organization has an engaging opportunity for a Mid/Long Range Planner to join their organization. This role will be focused on the Lloydminster Complex and Superior Refinery and will lead and develop Mid-Range 4-24 month plans as well as lead and develop Long Range 2-10-year volume plans. Working with Refinery Teams, Downstream Commercial Planners, and others - minimize impact of maintenance and Turnaround Planning. Scope for this role includes Lloydminster Refinery, Lloydminster Upgrader, Superior Refinery, Marketing demands, Terminal network.
What you'll do:
Lead the Mid and Long Range planning processes to generate respective volumetric plans
Lead the development of the Canadian Value Chain/Superior Refining Mid and Long Range 10-year plans that enhance annual gross margin by:
- Driving optimal crude and product slate
- Understanding and identifying key constraints and impacts
- Minimizing impact of maintenance and turnaround events through reduced frequency and timing
- Develop and communicate mid-range TAR hydrocarbon plans in support of site NaviTrack objectives
- Provide support to Short Term Network Planner as upcoming outages, maintenance etc.
- Engage with following stakeholders on a regular basis: TS&L, Marketing, Manufacturing Business office, Refinery Economics Departments, Fundamentals
- Single year crude volumes ~56MMBBLS (approximate)
- Combined Operating Margin of approximately ~$511MM
Who you are:
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:
Legally authorized to work in Canada
8+ years' experience in Refining, Downstream Supply or Production business environment
Degree in Engineering, Chemical Engineering preferred
Experience with planning tools such as ASPEN PIMS, AVEVA Spiral, PETRO, etc. is required
Understanding of refinery unit processes is required
Experience considering refinery and supply constraints to determine economic incentives and develop solutions
Experience participating in plan versus actual meetings to identify gaps in planning and/or optimization processes
Previous work experience in Process Engineering, Economics, Scheduling, or Supply/trading is considered as an advantage
Broad commercial experience both within a refinery and marketing environment
Understanding of crude supply logistics and trading, product marketing and logistics, and deep understanding of refinery economics
Expertise in both running and interpreting results from an LP
Ability to understand the commercial complexity of a refinery as well as direct organizations to optimize assets
Experience with AVEVA Spiral software is preferred
