THE POSITION

The painter is responsible for all decorative and painting operations in buildings operated by Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation. As part of the Building Operations department, you will work with our Trades and Maintenance teams to ensure the presentation of the building and facilities are maintained to a high standard. Whilst primarily undertaking decoration and painting, and associated repairs and preparation, you will assist our Carpentry Team, so experience, training and knowledge in this area would be a preference.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Prepare, clean and sand surfaces to be painted
  • Repair cracks and holes
  • Mix paint to desired colour and texture
  • Measure, cut and apply wallpaper and other fabric to walls
  • Erect scaffolding and swing stages
  • Apply paint, wallpaper and other materials and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces
  • Basic carpentry responsibilities.
  • Actively participate in safety programs and follow polices;
  • All other duties as assigned.

      • F&B prep areas
    • Equipment and machinery experience
      • Brush painting
      • Patterned rollers
      • Roller painting
      • Basic carpentry skills would be an asset
    • Surface preparation experience
      • Drywall taping/patching
    • Wall covering specialization
      • Fabrics/upholstery
    • Work conditions and physical capabilities
      • Attention to detail
      • Ability to distinguish between colours
      • Bending, crouching, kneeling
      • Physically demanding
    • Weight handling
      • Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
    • Own tools/equipment
      • Steel-toed safety boots
