The Opportunity

We have a unique opportunity for an experienced and motivated Professional Engineer, in the Right-of-Way & Threat Management team. In this role, you will be part of a high performing group of engineers, technologists, and land analysts that work to ensure safety and protection of TC Energy's infrastructure.

Your role will be to evaluate Crossings or Land-use changes that may impact TC Energy's pipelines and facilities, apply Damage Prevention best practices, and collaborate with internal operations and external stakeholders.

What you'll do

  • Monitor Land-use changes around the company's pipelines
  • Engage 3rd parties to negotiate changes to design to meet Damage Prevention requirements
  • Set up and stand up projects to mitigate pipeline(s) affected by 3rd party requests
  • Review and assess proposed pipeline Crossing requests
  • Conduct Engineering Assessments of pipeline Crossings
  • Evaluate 3rd party requests and apply Damage Prevention best practices
  • Provide technical support to pipeline integrity stakeholders and regional representatives as required
  • Support the continuous improvement of integrity management program and procedures

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with APEGA
  • Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) designation from a Canadian provincial regulator
  • A minimum of six (6) years of engineering or equivalent experience
  • Other combination of education and work experience may be considered
  • Effective communication (written and oral) and presentation skills
  • Understanding of pipeline construction practices, pipeline Class, and pipeline Crossing requirements
  • Fluency in written and spoken French

Preferred Qualifications

  • Significant professional experience in pipeline integrity and CSA Z662
  • Thorough understanding of Canadian Regulations and standards related to pipeline integrity and damage prevention
  • Self-motivated individual with excellent work ethic and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated decision-making skills, with the ability to collaborate and contribute in a team environment
  • Established ability to problem solve by applying engineering principles and developing effective solutions
