The Opportunity

TC Energy's Pipe Integrity Project Controls Group is seeking a Project Controls Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Manager, Project Controls Pipe Integrity in Canda Gas Projects. The Project Controls team is responsible for providing project controls support specific to cost management, forecasting, trend management, and accurate estimate at completion for the general plant maintenance capital (GPMC) and expense annual program(s).

In this role you will work with various stakeholders including third-party and internal service providers for project controls support across the GPMC program from project initiation to final closeout. To be successful in this role, you will need to be highly organized, a proactive thinker, with excellent communication skills to manage a large portfolio of maintenance projects.

What you'll do

  • Manage a portfolio of 50+ maintenance projects supporting the pipe integrity GPMC program

  • Support estimate development and reviews; responsible for mapping estimate into the control WBS

  • Support 3rd party commitment management; accurate control account assignment, establishing reporting requirements, and incurred cost reporting

  • Maintain accurate project estimate at completion and estimate to complete

  • Report monthly project status while controlling to approved project and program baseline(s); analysis, variance explanations and trend reporting

  • Support project management of change and contingency management; trend classification, initiation, and change impact analysis

  • Collaborate with the Project Managers and other stakeholders to review project costs and forecasts

  • Report committed costs, support contract changes, requisition and commitment close-out

  • Report incurred costs and complete monthly project accruals using contractor cost and progress reports

  • Provide lifecycle project controls support from initiation to final close-out

  • Maintain ERP project master data and proactively review and initiate projects for closeout.

Minimum qualifications

  • Post-Secondary degree in a related field

  • An alternative combination of education and experience may be considered

  • 4 or more years of related experience

  • Results oriented with sound problem-solving and analytical skills and an aptitude for attention to detail and accuracy

  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Excel, PowerBI).

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with SAP Project Systems and Omega PIMS

  • An organized self-starter who can effectively balance a high volume of projects with minimal supervision

  • Experience with cost management and cost reimbursable contracts

  • Experience with executing low- to moderate-risk capital projects

  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
