We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Purchaser to join our growing team in Calgary and work with our fantastic Project Teams across the region's most interesting projects. The mission of the Purchaser is to support purchasing activities for the Modern Niagara field teams to ensure they are carried out efficiently, cost-effectively and within established timelines.

The Purchaser must also live and promote Modern Niagara's Core Values in all their actions and support the efforts of the entire Modern Niagara team towards the achievement of established goals. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Source and purchase Line materials & specialty items for field foremen
  • Review, maintain, and issue required purchase orders to preferred vendors
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers
  • Review, maintain, and recommend appropriate levels of inventoried materials and consumables
  • Schedule and expedite material deliveries
  • Detailed review of vendor invoices against orders placed to ensure accuracy and resolve exceptions
  • Execute material return procedures and ensure credits are obtained from suppliers
  • Maintain purchase order records in an organized process

Job Requirements

  • 1-3 years of Purchasing experience within the construction industry
  • Post-secondary education in construction management/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Previous experience working in the construction industry, particularly Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing service projects
  • Ability to build long-lasting and beneficial relationships with suppliers to receive the best pricing on materials
