Job Summary:

NOV is looking for a reliable, detail-orientated individual to join our team. The Purchaser will be responsible for buying products and services needed to produce goods for NOV or for third parties in a high-paced environment. This include finished products along with manufacturing and production materials, while ensuring that NOV is receiving the best possible price and on-time delivery from respective vendors.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Cradle to grave purchasing of materials and supplies required for production, sales & inventory.
  • Expedite POs as time allows.
  • Verify items from drawings, diagrams and schematic drawings when required.
  • Adjusts purchasing priorities as a result rush orders.
  • Review technical specifications for materials.
  • Sourcing suppliers based on price, availability, necessity, quality and logistical expenses when not specified by Engineering.
  • Develop and maintain contacts with existing and new suppliers. Responsible for acquiring all information and paperwork required to set up a "new vendor" and entering it for approval through intercompany software.
  • Coordinate with freight agencies to arrange shipping and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Reconcile any accounts payable issues within A/P software and communicate with A/P clerks when necessary.
  • Prepare and store record-keeping documents as required by Compliance.
  • Assist the Warehouse with order information and discrepancies.
  • Responsible to follow all applicable company and corporate policies, guiding principles, procedures and programs; support processes & HSE requirements.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements (Minimum Education and Experience):

  • Min 2 years purchasing experience required.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience purchasing in a manufacturing setting considered an preferred.
  • Knowledge of raw materials & the ability to perform material takeoffs would be given special consideration.
  • High proficiency with MS Office products, particularly Excel, Teams & Outlook.
