We are currently recruiting for a Specialist, Materials Management to join our Distribution team. The Specialist, Materials Management is responsible for providing Inventory analytics, and reporting for the Global Distribution function; This role plays an integral role in inventory performance optimization. The successful candidate will be required to analyze, manipulate, and integrate data from various sources and synthesize the information into reports that generate discrete actions that drive value for the organization. Analysts will work closely and build positive relationships within the supply chain, aftermarket, finance, and operations teams.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director, Global Distribution the Specialist, Materials Management is responsible to manage & direct all Material teams and functions supporting Aftermarket operations. This role will be accountable to inventory accuracy, optimization, transactions in DHC's ERP, & warehouse layout including space optimization and design. This role will liaise closely with key stakeholders in all aspects of De Havilland's business units.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Establish inventory reporting and KPIs at the business unit level, and widely support inventory optimization.
  • Develop recommendations, facilitate, action and report on inventory optimization and improvement initiatives, through analysis of transactional histories, and business needs.
  • Support excess and obsolete inventory analysis, recommendations, and mitigation actions.
  • Support the supply chain team with on-demand data analysis & reporting to support inventory management, demand planning, procurement, contracts management, warehouse operations and fulfillment activities.
  • Work with various functions to solve business problems through process mapping and alignment sessions that enable the business objectives.
  • Build positive relationships with suppliers as well as internal stakeholders from the working level to executive level to achieve program objectives.

Education and Professional Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, and/or have extensive experience in supply chain.
  • University degree in Supply Chain. Management, Business or Technical discipline preferred.
  • APICS CPIM, CSCP / SCMP preferred or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills; great attention to detail.
  • Lean Six Sigma training, continuous improvement experience preferred.
  • Superior presentation, oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic, demanding and deadline-driven environment.

Experience

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in business analytics/project management.
  • 5+ years' experience with Supply Chain processes and a digital procurement platform.
  • Proficiency with the IFS, SAP, JDE, or other Resource Planning (ERP) systems would be considered an asset.
  • Experience in the aerospace industry and/or manufacturing environment (Asset).

Skills

  • Results oriented and a team player comfortable working with all aspects of the organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English).
  • Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong presentation skills with excellent proficiency of MS PowerPoint, and ability to get into details as well as provide executive summaries of complex situations.
  • Proficient with process mapping using Microsoft Visio.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Comfortable dealing with all levels of an organization.
  • Strong financial acumen with excellent proficiency in MS Excel to analyze data.
  • Ability to work in a highly technical environment.
