Your Opportunity

We are excited to announce that an opportunity exists for a Structural Engineering Co-op Student within our Buildings Group.

As the successful candidate, your responsibilities will include;

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Provide general support to engineers and technologist.

  • Uses knowledge of the general concepts of relevant structural engineering elements.

  • Prepares drawings and reports for relevant project design elements.

  • Performs due diligence and research on projects as required to provide the background information to start new projects.

  • Reviews submittals on projects to ensure compliance to contract documents.

  • Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Highly motivated, willing to work in a team-oriented environment, and ready to commit to Stantec's strategic initiative to be among the top 10 global design firms.

  • Excellent communication skills are essential, including interpersonal and verbal abilities within a multi-discipline team environment.

  • Must be well organized to be able to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments.

  • Excel required. Prior knowledge/experience in the following considered an asset: Bluebeam Revu, Revit, programming languages such as Dynamo, Python and C#, and structural modeling programs such as SAP, RISA, ETABS.

Education and Experience

  • 12-to-16-month program for 3 rd year undergrads.

  • Prior relevant experience is a definite asset.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
