Summary: Ensures the ADR and Veryx equipment is running efficiently to meet customer specification on defects.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Operates all ADR equipment (ADR's, Veryx) in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Provides support to other plant sorting equipment as requested
  • Manages wet grading screening
  • Ensures the ADR and Veryx equipment is set to the appropriate specifications in accordance with the type of product being run.
  • Willing to support and cross train with the Cutter deck operator
  • Changes, disassembles and assembles the ADR cutter wheels.
  • Works together with the peeler operator to maximize recovery with regards to peel loss
  • Performing required daily tests to ensure product quality, consistency, and determine equipment effectiveness. Then recording results into the designated McCain database to drive Real Time Management MDI and support data analysis.
  • Provide support and provide leadership to the on shift sanitation team members and production labourers
  • Maintains all required documentation including recipe control, MDI x AI etc
  • Must maintain daily sanitation and food safety in area.
  • Must be able to properly perform shut down clean ups procedures properly and safely using all appropriate PPE.
  • Must know the proper reporting procedures for FM and ICR's and can assist in an investigation.
  • Other related duties as assigned

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Competencies)

  • Able to work shift work on a rotating basis
  • Familiar or ability to learn and work with Infinity, Process Control, MDI and basic computer skills.
  • Able to recognize "In Control and Out of Control" parameters with colour teaching and adjustments of equipment.
  • Must have safe work habits.
  • Effective written, oral, mathematical and interpersonal skills.
  • Adheres to all Company rules, regulations and policies and all relevant rules, regulations and policies.

Required Length, Type of Experience & Licenses (if applicable)

  • Must be willing to train in Confined Space & Rescue, Personal Fall Protection, Forklift and Scissor/Boom Lift (height min 20')
  • Mechanically inclined

Physical Requirements

  • Able to manage humidity, high temperature work environment by following McCain heat stress policy
  • Physically capable of performing job duties (e.g., lifting 40 - 50 lbs of potatoes when required)
  • Able to climb stairs to check equipment and product.
  • Experienced with the safe handling of chemicals in accordance with WHMIS an assest.
