Summary: Operates all equipment in the Tote Room in a Safe and efficient manner in relation to production demands

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Operates all equipment in the Tote Room in a Safe and efficient manner in relation to Packaging demands.

  • Responsible for accurately monitoring the movement of totes and for recording same (dumping / filling).

  • Adds product back to the line as directed.

  • Accurately complete / maintain all required documentation.

  • Ensures good housekeeping and 5S practices are maintained in the Tote Room and Packaging areas.

  • Performing required daily tests to ensure product quality, consistency, and determine equipment effectiveness. Then recording results into the designated McCain database to drive Real Time Management and support data analysis

  • Other related duties as assigned.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Competencies)

  • Must have proven history of safe work habits.

  • Familiar with PI, Process Control, OCAP and basic computer skills.

  • High School Graduate

  • Experienced with the safe handling of chemicals in accordance with WHMIS.

  • Must have strong communication skills, ability to follow detailed instructions, and be able to maintain good working relationships with Supervision and coworkers as well as ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to work on a rotating shift basis.

  • Mathematical ability to perform basic calculations.

  • Able to work in a cold temperature work environment

  • Able to perform inspection for Contamination, Safety, Food Safety and Mixed Product Sources.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize efficiently using effective time management and organizational skills.

  • Must be willing to cross train in other areas.

  • Must be willing to work in a team based atmosphere.

  • Familiarity with in process control testing and entering results into the designated McCain database PI

Required Length, Type of Experience & Licenses (if applicable)

  • Experienced with the safe handling of chemicals in accordance with WHMIS.

  • Must have or be willing to complete training on forklift, personal fall protection and scissor/boom lift.

Physical Requirements

  • Physically capable of performing all required duties including some heavy lifting (up to 40lbs).
