About this opportunity:

Cenovus is looking for an Electrical Maintenance Technician for the Christina Lake Process De-oiling and Field Area Work Team. Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator, this role will be responsible for working with the Operations staff to provide troubleshooting expertise, providing input regarding equipment and spare part inventory, and supporting all work order process from creation to closure as per Cenovus standards.

CHRISTINA LAKE

  • This is a full-time employee position working a shift of 12 hrs. per day, 8 days on, 6 days off, Wed to Wed

  • Christina Lake is located approximately 170 km north of the City of Lac La Biche and is a fly in/ fly out remote camp-based position. Busing to site is available for local residents out of La Corey and Lac La Biche

  • Cenovus will provide air transportation to Christina Lake from designated hubs out of Calgary and Edmonton.

  • At the Christina Lake site, employees will be provided comfortable camp accommodations and recreational amenities.

What you'll do:

  • Ensure effective maintenance of industrial electrical equipment EG: motors, starters, VFDs, EHT, relays, breakers etc

  • Respond to after hour call outs and maintain housekeeping standards

  • Interpret drawings, use appropriate codes, and follow installation standards and practices

  • Examine process flow drawings, equipment lists and specifications for reference purposes and for resolving work procedures

  • Provide support and technical advice to facilities engineering, project personnel, and planning for preventative/corrective maintenance requirements

  • Work with a group that includes third party Service Providers

  • Responsible to participate and continuously improve maintenance key performance indicators

  • Support all work order process from creation to closure as per Cenovus standards

  • Provide guidance to team leads and warehouse personnel regarding equipment and spare parts inventory requirements

  • May be required to implement tasks and responsibilities not listed in this job

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

  • Minimum Grade 12 Diploma

  • 3 years Journeyman electrical Tech

  • Willingness to consider Rope Access Technician level 1 training

  • Proficiency in CMMS software (i.e., SAP) and Microsoft programs

  • First Aid, TDG, WHMIS, Confined space and H2S Alive certifications are required

The following training /certifications are considered an asset:

  • Dual ticket certification for Instrumentation and Measurement (MARP) experience

  • SCADA experience

As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments.

For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate.
