Reporting directly to the Arena Operations Supervisor, the successful candidate will work with other staff to ensure the safe, clean, effective & efficient operation of the NAIT arena & other recreation facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer service
Supervision of the arena space & adjacent areas/facilities
Zamboni & ice edger operation & minor maintenance
Regular daily maintenance of the ice surface & rink board system
Keeping daily logs on equipment & operation
General cleaning of the arena & adjacent areas/facilities
Assisting in the setup or takedown of scheduled events in all the recreation facilities
Compliance with opening/ closing policies
Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of arena operations & maintenance methods, techniques and practices
Working knowledge of Zamboni / ice edger operation & maintenance
Customer service skills
Ability to lift & move heavy items
Problem solving skills
Qualifications:
Completion of grade twelve
1 year of experience in arena operations
Valid class 5 driver's license
Experience driving a Zamboni is an asset
Valid first aid & CPR certificates
Equivalencies may be considered
Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).
Remuneration: $23.20 - $29.02 per hour, plus 12% in lieu of stat holidays and vacation accrual. (Classification - Maintenance Service Worker ll).
This casual opportunity is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement.
