We are currently recruiting an experiencedMillwright to erect, climb, dismantle, and perform maintenance and repairs to Terex tower cranes and Alimak personnelhoists on various construction sites in Alberta. The ideal candidate has experience with 480V 3-Phase, VFD, industrial controls with relays, breakers, mechanical switches, high voltage AC motors and brakes. Ideally the candidate will have expertise as an Industrial Electro-Mechanic with experience working on tower cranes and hoists although we are willing to train if the candidate has experience on other large equipment.
Wage
Negotiable depending on experience and certifications.
Time & 1/2 after 9 hours per day or 44 hours/week.

Duties/Responsibilities
Erect, climb, dismantle, and perform maintenance and repairs to cranes and personnel/material hoists.
Help with proper loading of equipment on trucks for transporting.
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, drawings, and understand mechanical drive systems. Knowledge of PLC's and frequency drive systems a plus.
Applicable knowledge of OH&S safety regulations as they apply to crane and hoist erection, dismantle, climbing, maintenance and repair. Complying with Company and Regulatory safety requirements and specifications on jobsites and in the yard and shop.
Submission of required service reports, work orders, expense reports, time sheets and other documents as requested. All such documents must be processed and submitted within designated timeframes established by the home office.
Ability and willingness to work overtime to accommodate the needs of the business. This includes "on call status" as required.
Design, construct, install, alter, repair, maintain and test personnel hoists
Install rack and pinion personnel hoists - layout base & buffer assembly, install masts, braces, anchors, and limit cams. Install car enclosure, drive assembly and counterweight assembly. Install & inspect hoistway door wiring & hoarding. Install base and car control panel and wiring. Adjust and commission.
Install wiring raceways, fixtures, and wiring
Install and trouble shoot electrical systems
Repair elevating systems - service brake systems, replace machines and motors
Comply with OH&S regulation & provincial safety standards
Use PPE
Use hand, measuring and alignment tools
Use ladders, scaffolding and platforms
Use rigging and hoisting equipment
Use electrical test equipment
Read drawings and specification
Read, interpret, and use acts regulations and codes

Travel within Alberta as well as Manitoba, Saskatchewan and British Columbia required (10-25%)

Requirements
Experience relating to the service of and working with 480V/3phase electrical including a working knowledge of electrical schematics and symbols.
Skilled with diagnostics and troubleshooting complex electrical/electronic parts to component level.
Knowledge and troubleshooting experience with PLC, Three-phase and AC/DC motors and drives.
Experience with Alimak elevators a plus.
Good mechanical background.
Motor Control experience is an asset.
Ability to take the initiative, prioritize and manage time effectively.
