Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Machine Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining machines, sustaining operating requirements, and executing the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) program.

Key Position Functions:

  • Complete all assigned activities and maintenance in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) requirements.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment, such as:
    • Empty and clean chip bins daily;
    • Ensure machine lubrication;
    • Maintain fluid levels; and
    • Monitor coolant concentration.
  • Focus on equipment operation and offer solutions for best practices.
  • Execute the PPM program to ensure machine and equipment operations are in alignment with parameters that minimize failure and increase the lifecycle of assets.
  • Specific functions may include (but are not limited to):
    • Clean, align, and repair machines as necessary;
    • Change oil, clean tanks and strainers, and change filters;
    • Clean heat exchangers, cooling fans, motor fans, and misting systems;
    • Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble both manual and hydraulic chucks; and
    • Maintain, repair, and adjust metal belt chip conveyors.
  • Maintain organized and accurate records of all maintenance performed using maintenance software system (FIIX).
  • Assist with collecting and recording meaningful data relevant to the history of all equipment in order to make informed decisions about repair, overhaul, or replacement.
  • Review and analyze maintenance reports to identify persistent electrical and mechanical areas of concern.
  • Take corrective action to maximize efficiency and minimize down time.
  • Ensure scheduled tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain an inventory of machine parts, tools, equipment, supplies, and consumables.
  • Ensure compliance with the Stream-Flo Guiding Principles by adhering to all Health, Safety, Quality, and Environment regulations and policies.
  • Maintain work area to an acceptable Stream-Flo standard of cleanliness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Preferred candidates will possess a combination of the following:

  • High School Diploma.
  • 1-3 years of related machine maintenance experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude (with machinery knowledge preferred).
  • Experience with CNC equipment a strong asset.
  • Computer proficiency using MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel); knowledge of maintenance software FIIX an asset.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), time management and organizational skills with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and accurate record keeping.
  • Able to work at heights (e.g. boom or scissor lift).
  • Willing to wear a respirator as required.
