The Maintenance Technician contributes to the overall terminal operations, executing product handling, maintenance, and safety related tasks at the facility. To perform a variety of semi-skilled tasks associated with the operations and maintenance of the terminal truck risers, rail and facility buildings.

The Maintenance Technician position looks after the coordination and implementation of many of our regulatory obligations within the facility. These obligations require a heighten awareness in "Permit Authorization" as well as a focus in Safety that requires them to perform these tasks uninterrupted.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Performs day-to-day operations activities of the facility as assigned.
  • Performs work in adherence to Field Level Hazard Assessment (FLHA) and Safe Work Permits with external contractors.
  • Responds and reports incidents to Team Lead or senior team member on site.
  • Interacts professionally with vendors, customers, carriers, other service providers to coordinate upcoming work.
  • Performs general maintenance and housekeeping to equipment, grounds, and buildings.
  • Operate Skid Steer, Forklifts, and Arial Work Platform and perform yearly inspections.
  • Spread sand in terminal as needed.
  • Assist in all ILI runs, Tank outages and "Soil & Ground Water" testing.
  • Perform minor repairs on rail racks, coordinate major repairs with external contractor.
  • Receive and organize spare parts in the terminal.
  • Demonstrates a personal commitment and proactive approach to Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) through participation in all applicable EH&S programs and ensures safe operation of the branch, team or unit and compliance with all Company EH&S policies and procedures.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring

  • Minimum Grade 12 high school diploma. Post-secondary education will be considered an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial setting.
  • Previous related experience and Trades qualification are definite assets.
  • Possesses or can obtain necessary accreditations: TDG, WHMIS, Standard First Aid, Fall Protection, H2S, Mask fit.
  • Exhibits good communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Completes assigned duties and tasks on time.
  • Understands and performs assigned tasks while following established procedures.
  • Demonstrates punctuality, dependability, and accountability for all tasks.
  • Operate Skid Steer and Articulating forklift as required, remove snow around scale in the winter.
  • Preference given to Pipe Fitter 1st or2nd year qualification.
  • Can operate a 5500 KG sanding truck.
  • Must have excellent computer skills in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Maximo.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces as well as climb ladders and stairs.
  • Standing and sitting for frequent periods with some driving on uneven surfaces required.
  • Frequent bending and twisting as required as in prolonged neck positioning.
  • Occasional crouching and kneeling.
  • Frequent upper extremity movements (elbows, forearm, wrist, handgrip) with some upper shoulder movements.
  • Lifting up to 50lbs.
  • Pushing up to 50lbs with some carrying up to 25lbs.
  • Work at heights as required.
