Reporting to the ATP Supervisor, the Saw Operator - ATP, will set-up and operate saws and cutting equipment in accordance with work order requirements.

Key position functions include:

  • Set-up and operate saws and cutting equipment in accordance with work order requirements.
  • Receive material and process paperwork.
  • Ensure processes and machine operations are performed in accordance with safety regulations and are carried out in a conscientious manner.
  • Maintain an acceptable level of productivity and efficiently.
  • Work in conjunction with Industrial Engineering at achieve and maintain best practices.
  • Transfer heat numbers on cut pieces and ends of cut bars
  • Responsible to ensure product quality meets drawing specification
  • Identify non-conformances by separation and/or marking
  • Maintain machines, workstation and equipment to an acceptable standard
  • Follow work and order and process traveler requirements and fill out job sheets or record time using ERP system
  • Report all machine, crane and hoist problems in the proper maintenance logs and notify Maintenance and/or Lead Hand of a down-time situation
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned

Preferred candidates will possess a combination of the following:

  • High School Diploma with relevant shop and/or manufacturing experience operating and setting up saws and other cutting equipment.
  • Mechanically inclined; basic understanding of hand and power tool functionality.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.
  • Computer skills using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook); knowledge of ERP software.
  • Good communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Well organized with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize work tasks
