We are seeking top-tier talent to join our Maintenance and Turnaround division and build innovative projects in the oil, gas, petrochemical, renewable energy, power, mining, forestry, underground, heavy construction, maintenance, turnarounds and sustaining capital sectors. About The Role

Reporting to Senior Regional HSE Manager, the Senior HSE Coordinator is responsible for the leadership on the project site, and is the go-to safety expert on site. The Senior HSE Coordinator is also responsible for client management, direct interaction with the client, monthly / weekly reporting, supporting operations in the day-to-day functions of the HSE, and leading and lagging safety indicators to the RSM, Director, and Corporate, mentorship of coordinators, and monitoring the HSE Administrator workload. This initiative will support the future needs of our Oilsands and Edmonton Industrial area projects, beginning in September 2024.

As a Senior HSE Coordinator at Graham, you will:

  • Take responsibility for own health, safety, and environmental protection, as well as that of direct reports, the general public, and visitors to the site(s).

  • Conduct project-specific safety orientation with all workers and visitors new to the worksite prior to commencement of work on the project.

  • Confirm that equipment inspections, preparation of reports, and follow-up on all noted deficiencies are completed.

  • Report any noncompliant conditions to the responsible project Superintendent / Supervisor.

  • Assist in BBS assessments, when required.

  • Confirm through inspections that controlled products supplied to projects are accompanied by a corresponding current SDS / MSDS, and other documentation as required by local government regulations.

  • Confirm through observations that the ERP and other related emergency documents, bulletins, and notices are posted and communicated to workers.

  • Attend and participate in HSE meetings.

  • Review incident reports and maintain monthly statistics to identify undesirable trends.

  • Conduct project inspections with the project Superintendent and worker to support hazard identification

  • Arrange or conduct HSE training for workers and Supervisors.

  • Interact with regulatory bodies and clients, taking a hands-on approach and acting as the point of contact.

  • Deal with issues and support Operations as required.

  • Demonstrate HSE and Quality behaviours that reflect corporate expectations of Actively Caring and Road to Zero.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • High school graduation and completion of a diploma training program at a college or technical school.
  • Certification in Health and Safety, or a safety designation is an asset.
  • 2-3 years of experience in safety or a related field.
  • Understanding of how HSE MS systems work.
  • Understanding of general constructability.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and online reporting software.
