Key position functions include:

  • Work together with sales team to ensure customers receive exceptional engineering and technical support.
  • Improve project efficiencies by utilizing standard items where applicable. Where standard product lines cannot be used, provide customer with product solutions.
  • Ensure the solution offered provides the best technical, commercial, and quality product in accordance with the customers requirement, applicable industry standards, and Global Product Line Strategy.
  • Ensure projects are carried out on time while working alongside all departments of the company, including manufacturing, quality assurance and service.
  • Responsible for finalizing and documenting engineering design input requirements for the project.
  • Assess, evaluate, and incorporate technical requirements for the project, including input from external agencies sales and end users to determine their specific design requirements and determine the best solution for the application utilizing standard SFI product lines.
  • Review customer RFP and RFQ documents for technical requirements and develop the project outline.
  • Submit any commercial, technical, or quality clarifications to the customer using the most practical method.
  • Review custom product design solutions for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, industry standards, customer requirements and related specifications.
  • Develop and deliver presentations required for customer design reviews / meetings.
  • Provide conceptual design of wellhead equipment in accordance with API 6A including 3D modelling, design calculations and stress analysis.
  • Review of quotations for accuracy and completeness.
  • Communicate and deliver all design input documents to the core technology team.
  • Verify that the completed design output from the core engineering department meets all input requirements.
  • Coordinate or perform related project management events.

Preferred candidates will possess a combination of the following qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years related experience in wellhead products and associated services. Additional project management skills are an asset.
  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university or technical institute.
  • Membership with APEGA/ASET or eligible to get membership.
  • Proficient with 3D Modeling and drafting using Creo / Solidworks / AutoCAD
  • Thorough knowledge of all API 6A product requirements.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of stress analysis.
  • Solid understanding in the development and control of design documentation and technical writing.
  • Strong presentation, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Highly self-motivated, well organized and desire to gain experience / expand knowledge
  • A mechanical aptitude and methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to coordinate and execute multiple projects simultaneously with the capacity to work independently, coupled with the ability to plan and perform work with minimal direction and supervision.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
  • General understanding of wellhead industry and competitors' equipment.
  • The position may require some work outside of regular business hours, including evenings and weekends and engineering on call support.
  • The role will involve occasional travel.
