You'll Do:

  • Maintain a safe level of inventory of all critical parts in Stores to ensure no downtime due to parts not being on hand when required
  • Use Oracle & Maximo systems to manage and perform maintain inventory functions
  • Assist in the control of spare parts inventory, including warehousing (labeling, organizing, adding new stock), issues, returns, replenishment, and disposal of stock (obsolescence, surplus)
  • Help to identify and solve problems about discrepancies in inventory
  • Unload, receive, and inspect freight to ensure accuracy and quality. Identify and resolve discrepancies as they occur and process claims when necessary
  • Packing and shipping outgoing freight to minimize damage or leakage of parts
  • Maintain records (TDG, MSDS, outgoing freight documents, etc.) and handle packing slips/invoices as required
  • Perform cycle counts on a regular schedule to ensure all parts are counted annually
  • Maintain communication and critical relations with maintenance, operations team members, courier companies, and vendors
  • Prepares purchase orders by reviewing and verifying specifications and price; clarifying unclear items; recommending alternatives
  • Monitoring and expediting orders (including repairable)
  • Verifies receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered; resolves shipments in error with suppliers
  • Authorizes payment for purchases by forwarding receiving documentation
  • Commitment to working safely and creating a safe workplace
  • Other duties as assigned

You'll Have:

  • Grade 12 diploma
  • Desire to learn, grow and succeed
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills
  • Proactive and positive attitude
  • Able to work under pressure
  • A background in stores or parts warehousing with inventory experience

The following will be considered strong assets:

  • Experience working in an industrial computerized environment
  • Experience with inventory management systems, including Oracle/Maximo
  • Parts journeyperson ticket or enrolled in a purchasing or parts certificate
