About this opportunity:
Cenovus's Asset Integrity Team is seeking for a Senior Asset Integrity Technologist.
The Asset Integrity (AI) Technologist is a key member of the Conventional Business Unit AI team. The AI Technologist is accountable for executing the field implementation of the Conventional Asset Integrity Programs, in support of the Integrated Partnership model in Production Operations. The AI Technologist does this by maintaining a high level of technical ability and managing activities related to mechanical integrity, pipeline integrity, chemical applications, corrosion identification and mitigation, inspection and monitoring techniques, and failure analysis.
This role is based out of the Edson Office in support of the Kaybob / Edson producing facilities working closely and collaboratively with the Operations, Maintenance and Engineering Teams. primary focus of this position is the implementation and execution of the requirements of the Cenovus Conventional BU Pipeline Integrity Management Program.
What you'll do:
Maintain, update and report on the Pipeline Integrity Plans and task list for each Gathering system in the Area
Coordinate / supervise chemical, CP and NDE activities performed by contractors
Complete thorough investigations and failure analyses of pressure equipment related failures
Analyze and document all inspection activities for condition assessment, remaining life calculations and next inspection interval determination
Provide recommendations into business, budgeting, and T/A planning activities
Leading the District's chemical and cathodic protection programs
Supporting the execution of the District's Pipeline Inspection Program
The internal and external inspection of Pressure Vessels, pressure piping and field facilities
The planning, scheduling, and supervision of NDE activities in the plant and field,
Participating in / leading the incident investigation and failure analysis of pressure equipment failures
Review and follow-up of MOC activities
Support, participated and follow-up for internal and regulatory audits
Support and lead pressure equipment repairs
Over time this position may also develop the competencies and qualifications to support the Convention Pressure Equipment Integrity Management Program as an API / ABSA Certified Pressure Vessel Inspector
Who you are:
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:
Legally authorized to work in Canada
A Technologist diploma in Materials, Chemical, Petroleum, Welding, or other relevant Engineering Technology program. A high school diploma with over 10 years revelant experence may also be considered
Minimum 5 years experience in a corrosion, integrity or pipeline operations role
Familiarity with CSA Z662 and AER rules and regulations
Valid Class 5 driver's license and acceptable abstract
Alberta ISI-iBPV / In-Service Pressure Equipment Inspector Certificate of Competency, API-510, 570, 653 and National Board Certifications not required but considered an asset
