ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly dedicated and organized Bussing Coordinator & Administrative Support who is looking for an enriching experience to be part of the Elsie Fabian School team. As the Bussing Coordinator & Administrative Support for our school, you will provide daily bussing coordination and administrative support by answering telephones, greeting visitors, and handling administrative details required by the school Office. This is a full-time position reporting directly to the Principal of Elsie Fabian School.

KEY RESPONSIBITIES
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Take attendance, call parents regarding absences and support office team with assigned duties.
  • Answer general phone inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Direct phone inquiries to the appropriate staff member.
  • Reply to general information requests with accurate information.
  • Greet and assist students and visitors to the school in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Sort and sign incoming mail and deliveries for distribution.
  • Prepare and send outgoing mail, and packages.
  • Forward incoming general e-mails to the appropriate staff member.
  • Data entry and upkeep of the organization's databases, ensuring a high level of accuracy.
  • Draft correspondence and reports as requested and needed.
  • Order and maintain office supplies and assist in ordering janitorial supplies.
  • Develop or maintain a records management system (including classifying and coding electronic and hardcopy files).
  • Coordinate and schedule the bus routes
  • Answer calls and inquiries regarding the busing
  • Direct and monitor daily assignments; schedules drivers, bus assistants, and assigns vehicles to ensure daily coverage of all routes, and field trips.
  • Ensure daily activities of drivers are assigned and on schedule
  • Communicates all relevant details of driving assignments to drivers to ensure proper execution.
  • Notifies the Education Director of all changes in route assignments or other events that will disrupt service.
  • Maintains route documentation and records
  • Coordinates vehicle service and mechanical repairs with Maintenance Supervisor
  • Maintains high compliance to dispatch standard operating procedures.
  • Handles customer concerns and requests for information in a professional manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
  • High school Diploma or equivalent
  • Certificate or diploma in Office Administration or equivalent is an asset
  • Thrives in a positive team environment and easily adapts to new challenges
  • Embraces the use of technology and is proficient with Microsoft programs, Google apps, e-mail and internet
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office and telephone protocol
  • Superior time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision
  • Ability to speak either Dene or Cree language an asset
  • Experience and knowledge of First Nations culture and traditions
  • A valid Class 5 drivers license and Clean Drivers Abstract
  • Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector is required
