Location: Cenovus Sunrise Site

Schedule: 14 on/14 off, Straight Day Shift, 12 hours per day - Averaging Arrangement Applies

  • Vacation pay at 6% - paid out bi-weekly upon start date

Role Summary:


Bouchier is seeking individuals with a variety of carpentry skills for a 4-month camp dorm renovation project. In addition to interpreting client requirements and blueprints (where applicable), the ideal candidate will be proficient at executing their trade with a high degree of quality and care while meeting the timelines set out. A strong understanding of construction codes and the ability to analyze and troubleshoot would be an asset in this role. This role will require the successful candidate to actively assist with various work scopes as required for this camp renovation project.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Understand the specified requirements of the client and work accordingly.
  • Read construction layouts and blueprints (where applicable) to plan work processes.
  • Ensure adherence to maintenance standards and codes.
  • Repair and install doors, floors, cabinetry, windows, partitions, ceilings, and exteriors of buildings; build and install door and window framing.
  • Build wooden/steel structures such as partitions.
  • Perform hand and bench work in carpentry workshop; operate planers, joiners, drill presses, power saws, sanders, and other woodworking machinery.
  • Utilize framing or finish carpentry experience.
  • Undertake any other duties as assigned.


Education & Experience:


  • Skilled in either Commercial Painting, Mudding & Taping, Finish Carpentry, or Flooring Installation.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License is required.
  • CSTS and OSSA Regional Orientation, OSSA BSO (Basic Safety Orientation before December 31, 2018), or CSO (Common Safety Orientation after January 1, 2019) is required.
  • High School Diploma preferred.
  • Previous Renovation Experience is considered an asset.
  • 3 years' experience in a relevant role preferred.
  • Primarily residential or commercial experience preferred.
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive Drug, Alcohol, and Physical Demand Assessment
  • Ability to stand, crouch and kneel for long periods of time.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Balance for working on scaffolding.
  • Strong mathematical, scientific, mechanical, and logical reasoning abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a work team.
  • Fluent in spoken, written, and reading English.
