At SMS Equipment our Customer Solutions Manager is responsible for managing strategic customer support and interactions, while supporting Company business activities to achieve, and support SMS policies, goals and objectives. This position is in Fort McMurray, AB.

This is a Monday - Friday position.

The salary range for this position is $150,000 - $169,000.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Act as a representative for the company and as focal point for communication between the customer and the company.
  • Ensure the provision of service to the customers follows company policies, always targets and supports the company image.
  • Resolve customer issues by providing technical support on maintenance and operating problems, using the proper procedures for investigation, reporting and follow-up.
  • Lead customer JOIFUL meetings.
  • Takes initiative, makes decisions and assumes responsibility for decisions on customer problems and needs and responsibility for overall customer satisfaction
  • Consistent communication with all relevant branch personnel in order to drive consistency with the customer throughout the region.
  • Support business strategies to ensure stakeholder needs are met.
  • Foster effective communications between business units.
  • Support business in managing resources and assets in correlation with monthly and yearly budgets.
  • Promote and influence cross functional team collaboration maximizing use of available internal resources.
  • Promote and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate on workforce forecasting/scheduling and business process management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a post secondary education or trade certification in a related field as well as a minimum of 5 years experience with a strong equipment support orientation. Additional requirements include:

  • Experience in the mining industry and Komatsu equipment knowledge.
  • Self-motivated and proactive who keeps abreast of new technology and best practice pertaining to SMS' products and services.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to set objectives that are realistic, but aggressive.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate contractual agreements.
  • Ability to evaluate alternatives and assess advantages / risks in making decisions which are timely, decisive, and effective.
  • Ability to generate new ideas, approaches, or techniques to solve difficult problems and challenges.
  • Ability to influence without authority.
