Position Summary:


Position: Maintenance Technician / Labourer

Type: Full-time

Location: Kearl IOL FM

Schedule: 14 on / 14 off

  • Vacation pay at 6% - paid out bi-weekly upon start date

Role Summary:


As a Laborer you will provide general support to site operations and be responsible for general duties as required by the supervisor. Any experience in HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, or any other maintenance trade relevant to facilities management would be considered an asset.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Perform clean-up on site and at working location
  • Paint if/when required
  • Move furniture
  • Maintain eye wash stations
  • Inspect and or replace fire extinguishers
  • Spot for forklift and other vehicles
  • Assist tradespersons in their duties
  • Snow and ice removal when required
  • Maintain a cooperative working relationship with customers and other employees.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor


Education & Experience:


  • Job requirements are listed below:
    • Valid Class 5 Driver's License is required.
    • Clean 5-year Driver Abstract obtained within 30 days of starting work is required.
    • CSO (Common Safety Orientation) is required.
    • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
    • Safety conscious attitude
    • Must be willing to work in fluctuating climates (hot, cold, wet) and environmental conditions.
    • Must be comfortable working in close proximity to water.
    • Ability to pass a Drug and Alcohol test and Fit for Duty test.
      • Applicants are required to be clean shaven for testing and beyond.
    • All applicants must have the ability to speak, read and write fluently in English.
    • All applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • The following would be an asset to your application:
    • WHMIS 2015 Certification is an asset
    • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certification is an asset
    • Ground Disturbance Certification is an asset
    • First Aid Certification is an asset
    • H2S Alive Certification is an asset
    • ATV/UTV Certification is an asset
    • Chainsaw Certification is an asset
