Position Summary:


Position: Journeyperson Plumber

Type: Project (~4 mo)

Location: Cenovus Sunrise Site

Schedule: 14 on/14 off, Straight Day Shift, 12 hours per day - Averaging Arrangement Applies

Role Summary:


Bouchier is seeking a dedicated and adaptable Journeyman Plumber to join our team supporting our camp dorm renovation project for approximately 4 months. As a Journeyman Plumber/Gasfitter, you will play a crucial role in installing a variety of piping for this project. Knowledge of and ability to execute work according to plumbing codes are a key requirement of this role.


Primary Responsibilities:


    • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout of Natural Gas distribution lines and other piping.
    • Install underground polyethylene pipe, above ground carbon steel pipe, fittings, pressure gauges, PCV's, PSV's and pipe supports to transport the NG from the Tie-in point to the individual buildings.
    • Keep up to date with current safety regulations, requirements, and training for the various NG systems the company installs and maintains.
    • Locate and mark positions for pipe connections and passage holes in walls.
    • Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings.
    • Measure and cut pipes using hand and power tools.
    • Thread pipe.
    • Join pipes using couplings (mechanical).
    • Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.
    • May prepare cost estimates.
    • Receive and complete work orders.
    • Other duties as assigned.


    Education & Experience:


      • Red Seal or Alberta certified Journeyman Plumber certificate is required.
      • Journeyman Gas Fitter Class A or B is an asset.
      • Valid Class 5 Driver's License is required.
      • CSTS and OSSA Regional Orientation or OSSA BSO (Basic Safety Orientation before December 31, 2018) or CSO (Common Safety Orientation after January 1, 2019) certification.
      • Proficiency in threading techniques.
      • Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
      • Service plumbing experience is considered to be an asset.
      • Experience with DR11 Poly gas line.
      • Minimum three years of experience in an oilfield industrial environment.
      • High School Diploma preferred.
      • Strong troubleshooting skills.
      • Thorough knowledge of plumbing system installation and repairs.
      • Strong mathematical, scientific, mechanical, and logical reasoning abilities.
      • Ability to collaborate effectively within a work team.
      • Safety conscious attitude
      • Previous Renovation Experience is considered an asset.
      • Ability to pass a comprehensive Drug, Alcohol, and Physical Demand Assessment
      • Fluent in spoken, written, and reading English.
