Position: Fulltime

Location: CNRL Horizon

Schedule: 7 on/7 off Rotation (Compressed Work Schedule) - Subject to Change

Role Summary:

The Site Manager for the Pressure & Vac/ Firewater team will oversee and lead operations while promoting a best-in-class safe work culture. Acting as the main contact between the client (CNRL) and Bouchier field leadership team, the Site Manager will balance multiple projects, priorities and operational challenges while maintaining a high level of customer service. Bouchier is committed to continuous improvement and a successful Site Manager will ensure the growth and development of all team members. This will be accomplished through operational performance strategies, development and communication of tactical plans and improvement initiatives/opportunities. This position plays a key role in setting and enforcing quality and safety standards, driving value and leading Bouchier's on-site growth.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead, drive and support a strong safety culture,
  • provide safe, reliable and efficient site-wide services of:
      • Industrial cleaning
      • Hydro vac excavation
      • Water & fuel delivery to equipment
      • High pressure cleaning
      • Telehandler service
      • Mining shovel maintenance support & cleaning services
      • Firewater system maintenance and repair
  • Provide leadership support to the team in their daily assignments and to overcome challenges as they arise.
  • Lead in collaboration with the other Site Manager, General foreman, supervisors, HSE and client representatives.
  • Assist in the development of strategic initiatives/ activities with Bouchier leadership and communicate the plans effectively to the team.
  • Recognize and communicate to Bouchier leadership out of scope requests by client, demonstrating strong contractual knowledge.
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge of the budget and ensure operational activities align within the financial paramotors.
  • Provide support for estimating of equipment, materials, and labour requirements for Bouchier key scopes.
  • Provide performance metrics to the client and Bouchier leadership (safety, cost, and quality reporting).
  • Review and administer short and medium range operational plans, goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures; monitor and evaluate program effectiveness; assist to effect changes required for improvement.
  • Uphold a maintenance program to support and work to maintain physical asset security and condition of CNRL equipment.
  • Audit team to ensure compliance providing leadership to adjust as needed.
  • Provide mentorship and growth support for reporting personnel.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for employees on a quarterly basis.
  • Provides support and supervision to intermediate staff to ensure day-to-day project targets meet safety, quality, and schedule predetermined standards.
  • Analyze safety practices and procedures, share opportunities for improvement with Bouchier HSE leadership.
  • Conduct and/or attend worker line-up and safety meetings and pre-job start up.
  • Oversee and approve Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHAs) and work progress to verify conformance to safety standards.
  • Execute work with upmost safety and efficiency.
  • Evaluate operators on equipment use as required.
  • Develop safe work assignment plans, as necessary.
  • Inspect project operations and site to determine specification compliance.
  • Maintain production and work records.

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 to 10 years of leadership experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Pressure & Vac and Firewater industry
  • Previous experience in leading a large team of over 100 staff would be an asset
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Strong written communication skills a must
  • Above average organizational skills (Ability to multi-task and work within an ever-changing environment, prioritize and work efficiently).
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License; class 3 or 1 considered an asset
  • CSTS and OSSA Regional Orientation or OSSA BSO (Basic Safety Orientation before December 31, 2018) or CSO (Common Safety Orientation after January 1, 2019)
  • Ground disturbance 201 certification required
  • Confined Space, Fall Protection and Elevated Work Platforms certifications required
  • Transportation of dangerous goods certification required
  • Safety Leadership Excellence and Legislation Awareness certifications required
  • Applicants must have the ability to speak, read and write fluently in English
