You as a Senior Heavy Civil Estimator:

  • Analyze contract documents (drawings, specifications, contract deliverables, etc.) to prepare self perform cost estimates of projects for earthworks (site development, road building, detail excavation).
  • Assemble accurate, timely and well-organized estimates, including hard-bid, construction management and design-build.
  • Prepare quantity take offs.
  • Organize sub-contractor quotes when the bid is successful, re-writing binders and assisting the buy-out process.
  • Set-up new cost estimates in bidding software.
  • Develop schedule for accuracy and determine production rates.
  • Contact subcontractors and vendors for specific divisions to get external pricing.
  • Monitor the success of a project, noting potential challenges and building relationships with sub-trades for future opportunities.
  • Identify potential project risks.
  • Attend pretender meetings & site visits, where applicable.
  • Work with proposal & operations teams in writing execution methodology, safety plans, Indigenous Engagement Strategies, and quality documentation.
  • Present Estimate to management for Review.

Is this the right role for you?

  • 8+ years of Estimating experience is required.
  • 3+ years of Civil Construction, Project Management, and Field Experience is an asset.
  • Familiarity with B2W suite and asset
  • Self-motivated, energetic, and reliable with a positive disposition
  • Good communicator with attention to detail and good documentation skills.
