About this opportunity:
Cenovus is currently looking for an Instrument Maintenance Technician to join their Maintenance and Reliability department in their Foster Creek, AB location. In this role you will report to the Instrument and Electrical Steam Water Utility Coordinator. Candidate will be accountable for adhering to safe work practices that comply to EH&S guidelines and Cenovus internal practices and expectations, work with the Operations staff to provide troubleshooting expertise when required, implementing preventative and corrective work.

This is a full-time employee position working a shift of 7 days on 7 days off, 12 hours per day, Thursday to Wednesday
Foster Creek has full-service camp facilities
Depending on your place of residence and your shift rotation, bus and/or air transportation to/from site is offered from designated departure points in select locations
Foster Creek is serviced by flight Hubs in Calgary and Edmonton
What you'll do:
Ensure effective commissioning of trade equipment E.g.: control valves, transmitters, control systems etc. following repairs and replacements
Work one Day with Cross shift to provide details and information from the last shift
Respond to after hour call outs
Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a safe and organized work environment
Interpret drawings and use appropriate codes and follow installation standards and practices
Examine process flow drawings, equipment lists and specifications for reference purposes and for determining work procedures
Provide support and technical advice to facilities engineering and project personnel
Provide support to planning when it comes to preventative or corrective maintenance requirements
Support the scheduling department to prevent schedule conflicts and find opportunities
Manage third-party contractors as required
Contribute to and consistently enhance maintenance critical metrics (KPIs)
Support all work order process from creation to closure as per Cenovus standards
Provide recommendations to team leads and warehouse personnel regarding equipment and spare parts inventory requirements
May be required to implement tasks and responsibilities not listed in this job description
Who you are:
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:
Legally authorized to work in Canada
Minimum Grade 12 Diploma
3 years Journeyman Instrumentation Tech
Dual ticket certification for Electrical would be considered an asset
Proficiency in CMMS software (i.e., SAP) and Microsoft programs
First Aid, TDG, WHMIS, Confined space and H2S Alive certifications are required
We acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.
As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments.
For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate.
