We are looking for a Certified Power Engineer at our High Prairie Oriented Strand Board (OSB) Division, located in High Prairie, Alberta. Our mill is undergoing an exciting major rebuild and modernization including the commissioning of a new continuous press which will make us the most modern mill in North America.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • 4th Class Power Engineer Certification.
  • Extensive operating and maintenance experience.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to working safely.
  • Strong communication, leadership & interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Previous experience in a forest products environment is considered an asset.

In this role you will:

  • Work with a high-performance team dedicated to ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fire systems, process safety equipment, and newly built thermal energy system.
  • Apply your expertise to the planning and execution of maintenance and regulatory efforts in the energy area.
  • Show our commitment to excellence by maintaining records associated with compliance with environmental, ABSA and insurance standards.
  • Pass on your knowledge and commitment to excellence by developing training systems and operating procedures.
  • Train our team of Power Engineer Operators.
  • Step in and take charge for the Chief Power Engineer when they are away.
