Richardson Oilseed is one of Canada’s oldest and largest fully-integrated oilseed processing and packaging operations with three facilities across Canada. In addition to producing bulk canola oil and meal, our food products division produces a wide variety of canola-based margarines, oils, and shortenings for the industrial, retail and foodservice markets.
Working with Richardson opens the door to a world of possibility. We currently have an opportunity for a RBD Operator at our Lethbridge, AB location.
Responsibilities:
Operate and monitor all process equipment and process parameters
Ensure processes are all operated within the given range of parameters
Sample at given intervals and do own analysis.
Respond to any off-spec results and operate within given Q.C. specifications.
Save composite samples
Keep and log all operational records and communicate with other operators and Supervisors
Blend oils as required by deodorizer schedule
Assist in maintenance of equipment including minor maintenance and lubrication of process equipment
Troubleshoot any process upsets
Complete filter changes as required on bleaching filters and feed and discharge on deodorizing equipment
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Grade twelve or equivalent
Demonstrated ability of successful performance in current role
Excellent safety record (no violations in previous 12 months)
Excellent attendance record (less than 6 days absent in previous 12 months)
No disciplinary measures in the previous 12 months for which they have been disqualified from promotion and/or transfer
Able to meet all physical demands requirements of classification.
Able to operate mobile equipment
Able to communicate effectively, collaborate with others, manage time effectively, prioritize tasks to ensure deadlines are met
Able to train personnel as required or directed and complete and sign all required training documentation
Able to learn new equipment, processes, and procedures and trouble shoot plant issues in a timely manner consistent within the evaluation period
Able to complete all necessary training and certifications within the evaluation period
Display basic computer skills, a strong mechanical aptitude and be proficient with internal computer systems, including experience and/or ability to learn automation and PLCs (Programming Logic Controls)
Successful candidate must be open to additional training opportunities based on operational requirements and business needs
Able to work shift rotation and overtime as assigned
Able and willing to perform other duties as assigned
Previous oilseed processing operation experience will be considered an asset
