The Opportunity: McElhanney is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Entry Level Surveyor to join our team in Lloydminster, AB. This is a great opportunity for a dedicated individual who enjoys working outdoors and has strong math and problem-solving skills. We are looking for someone who is open to learning and advancing in their career, as we provide training and development opportunities for all our employees. The successful candidate will be involved in working on a wide variety of municipal, construction, oil and gas surveys.
The ability to travel and work out of town for extended periods and pre-employment drug & alcohol and fitness for work testing is required.
What You Can Expect
Entry level, on the job training and support. Hands on training with role mentor.
Training using Trimble R12i GPS, Trimble TSC5 Controller, and Trimble Business Center Software.
Completion of digital sketches, and daily field survey returns.
Career progression and advancement based on ability and understanding of role.
Overtime earned at time and a half.
Safety allowance for personal protective equipment.

What You’ll Be Doing:
Set-up and operation of Trimble GPS equipment.
Follow directives received from Project Manager to complete daily survey projects.
Clean and maintain equipment, maintain supplies, stock company vehicle, and ensure necessary physical resources are available in the field.
Use tools and equipment such as axe, sledgehammer, shovel, and metal detector to complete assigned tasks.
What You’ll Bring:
Physically fit, with the ability to walk in varied terrain and field conditions.
Willingness to work in varied environmental conditions, including wildlife populated areas.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Pre-employment drug and alcohol and fitness for work testing is required.
