West Fraser offers a range of exciting career opportunities for individuals seeking challenging and rewarding careers. Our North Central Woodlands division, located near Slave Lake and High Prairie, has an opportunity for an Operational Planner.

The North Central Woodlands team is responsible for leading safe, cost-effective, and environmentally sound forestry operations for West Fraser in the Slave Lake and High Prairie regions of Alberta. The team supplies the fibre required for a veneer plant and a lumber mill.

The operational planner reports to the Planning Superintendent and is part of the planning team responsible for all aspects of forest planning.

You'll Do:

  • Develop harvest and road plans that follow legal requirements and company policy
  • Coordinate and complete quality control field work on road and block layout
  • Contract administration and supervision
  • Liaise with government officials
  • Manage GIS data and incorporate information into products

You Have:

  • Possess a Registered Professional Forester (RPF) or Registered Professional Forester Tech (RPFT) designation for Alberta (or be eligible and willing to earn this designation).
  • Strong commitment to safety
  • Strong proficiency with ArcGIS applications
  • Be a dynamic, career-minded individual.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be highly motivated with proven organizational skills.

Compensation Package:

  • The salary range for this position may vary depending on experience, education, and location.
