Facilities Maintenance Technician

Role Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Technician will be responsible for repairing the daily wear and tear of the buildings and restaurants being operated by the Kicking Horse Resort. Reporting to the Facility, Fleet, & Purchasing Manager, this role will perform small plumbing, carpentry, and painting repairs as needed.

Accountabilities

• General repairs including furniture; doors and door closures with accessories, drywall repair, painting and touch-ups
• Plumbing responsibilities including repairs of toilets, urinals and sinks as well as hands-free activated plumbing
• Assist with repairs and maintenance in the kitchens and on heating equipment
• Carpentry duties including building and maintaining shelves, cabinets, sign bases ect.
• Maintain records of work completed and report on all shop related activities
• Initiate, manage and delegate daily work assignments with minimal supervision
• Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the health and safety program
• Adhere to all environmental policies and programs as required
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• 5 years experience as a general laborer with hands on experience with skilled trades
• Resort industry experience an asset
• Current valid driver's license
• Ability to access all locations on mountain by skiing or snowboarding

Working Conditions

• Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends
• May be exposed to severe weather conditions on resort (snow, cold, wind)
