The Opportunity

Technical Safety BC is looking for a Growth Product Manager to accelerate revenue and revenue velocity by leading the development of growth initiatives resulting in sustainable customer conversion and expansion. The Growth Product Manager role is responsible for leading cross-functional teams to identify, implement, and manage growth initiatives, optimize the revenue funnel, apply tactics for customer acquisition, retention and cross-sell. In service to our safety mandate, you will be partnering with senior management to build a sustainable business model, a scalable, efficient market participation & compliance operation, and a level playing field for our clients. Reporting to the Director, Product & Market Insight, this role requires a candidate who can balance strategic oversight with practical execution skills, often needing to experiment quickly and iterate on strategies to discover what most effectively drives product growth.

Pay Grade: 19 ($98,500 - $147,800 annual base salary)
Location: Open to any of our BC regional offices (hybrid environment)
Reports to: Director, Product & Market Leadership

Within their assigned product/service lines and client segments, the Growth Product Manager will:

  • Identify opportunities to build a more sustainable revenue and service delivery model through re-structuring of fees, improvements to our service delivery model and product innovation.
  • Work collaboratively, build relationships, and influence without authority within cross-functional teams.
  • Partner with go-to-market teams to increase market participation, drive adoption, reduce churn, and expand customer subscriptions to grow the customer base.
  • Utilize client, industry, market and internal research and analysis to identify client needs, safety needs, business needs, and market opportunities. Build product ideas and advocate for product design that improves safety outcomes and client experience sustainably.
  • Communicate progress, challenges, and results effectively to both internal stakeholders and leadership, facilitating alignment and transparency.
  • Possess an analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to leverage data to make informed, prioritized decisions.
  • Work with other product leaders to manage Technical Safety BC’s overall product roadmap.
  • Promote upcoming changes with stakeholder groups to ensure they are fully aware and prepared for launch.
  • Help client experience support teams manage the product and create features to improve support functions.
  • Collect and manage client data to build an understanding of the client organization and the people responsible for technical systems safety.
  • Contribute to the development of a Technical Safety BC -wide product strategy, product and processes, and build capacity and fluency with product development approaches across Technical Safety BC.
  • Represent and promote Technical Safety BC publicly, cultivate relationships with stakeholders, peers and clients and respond to emerging trends and future requirements.
  • Contribute to Technical Safety BC Corporate Initiatives.
  • Procure and manage vendors, prepare client proposals and contracts, negotiate and close deals as required.
  • Some travel required (up to 25%) to meet clients and employees around the province.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience you have:

  • 7+ years’ experience in product management, preferably in growth focused roles such as growth product management, channel marketing or growth marketing experience
  • Degree in business, marketing, communications or related field , or equivalent work experience with progressive responsibility
  • Proven track record of successfully driving growth and optimizing key business metrics
  • Significant customer research, user testing, and/or product analytics experience and expertise
  • Product development from ideation to operationalization/continuous improvement, formal project management
  • Validating market demand/interest
  • Pricing strategy, budget development & financial responsibility at product/service/project level
  • Human centered design/design thinking and AGILE methodology
  • Understand how strategy drives tactics, and how tactics realize strategy
  • Excellent written and oral communicator –proven ability to empathize, engage, present to and persuade people from all walks of life
  • Effective in the face of uncertainty/ambiguity, lateral-thinker, willing to take calculated risks
  • Tenacious, determined and has grit to persevere
  • Sense of humour
