We're looking for a Certified Electrician to join our EcoLogo-certified facility located in Armstrong, British Columbia. Our Armstrong Plywood Division safely and sustainably produces 195 million square feet of plywood every year for customers around the world so they can build their homes and their communities.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • Experience working as an Electrician with a valid Interprovincial ticket.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) - preferably JD Edwards.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Previous experience in a forest products environment is considered an asset.

In this role you will:

  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and come up with safe, reliable fixes.
  • Complete preventative maintenance as well as installations and upgrades, working on a variety of motors, hydraulic motion controls, optimizers and encoders.
  • Look for opportunities to continuously improve equipment reliability to come up with solutions that keep our industrial electrical equipment and controls repaired and maintained.
  • Carry out maintenance projects and programs.
