If you are as passionate about people as you are about power systems, you may have found your perfect fit.

We're looking for a Cogen Superintendent to join our EcoLogo-certified facility located in Armstrong, British Columbia. Our co-generation facility consumes the bark produced by up to eight area sawmills, creating 20 MW of electricity and all electricity generated is sold to BC Hydro.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • Previous experience with solid fuel combustion is considered an asset.

We value diversity at Tolko and know that experience and knowledge comes in many forms. Even if you don't have all the qualifications above, please apply. We would love to hear your story and have you grow with us.

In this role you will:

  • Work with a high-performance team dedicated to ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fire systems, process safety equipment, and steam and power generation assets.
  • Maintain accountability for the organization and supervision of plant production activities, while leading, documenting, reporting and troubleshooting operational events throughout a 24 hour operating schedule.
  • Ensure established daily production levels are achieved within safety, budget and quality goals.
  • Show our commitment to excellence by maintaining records associated with compliance with environmental, WorksafeBC, TSBC and insurance standards.
  • Use your leadership skills to hire, train, develop and manage employees to ensure a cohesive and high performing team.

So, what's in it for you?

  • You'll take on an exciting new challenge with supportive team members.
  • You'll earn a competitive salary based on your skills and experience. The expected base salary range for this position is $101,250 - $135,000.
  • You'll be eligible to participate in Tolko's bonus program.
  • You may also be eligible for relocation support including community connections so you can live (and play) where you work.
  • You'll be eligible for excellent benefits and access to our retirement plans, so you don't have to choose between your bottom line and your wellbeing or your future.
  • You'll be supported in continued development through on-the-job and classroom training.
  • You'll be part of a positive, innovative, and inclusive work environment.
