Reporting to General Manager, the EHS Coordinator provides leadership and support to the Environmental Management System (EMS) and to the Safety Management System (SMS). This position requires a hands-on approach to provide proactive occupational health and safety and environmental compliance with provincial legislation and regulations as well as for our continuous improvement activities.
You'll Do:
• Provide leadership and support to ensure effective implementation of all components of the Environmental Management System (EMS) and to the Safety Management System (SMS).
• Work with the Corporate West Fraser Environment and Sustainability Team to implement, improve, and standardize Environmental Management System expectations;
• Keep abreast of Company and Government environmental and safety requirements;
• Create, review, and update safety and environmental policies, procedures, and SOPs;
• Work with the leadership team to implement new safety and environmental programs and initiatives;
• Guide and support front line employees to ensure correct and sufficient application of site safety and environmental policies, procedures, SOPs, and processes through regular mill tours.
• Support and oversee environment and safety related training and mentoring of mill employees.
• Liaise with Corporate Environmental Resources and maintain environmental statistics and reporting as required (monthly, quarterly, annually). Report site environmental concerns and non-compliances.
• Assist in facilitating and organizing required annual internal and external safety and environmental audits (Safety Star, Industrial Hygiene, MDI, Process Safety, etc.).
• Maintain environmental and safety related documentation including training records, online training programs, any safety related programs (ISN, lockout), etc.
• Conduct periodic workplace inspections to assist in Identifying hazard areas (i.e., noise, machinery, falls) and ensure proper procedures are in place / communicated / followed to prevent incidents.
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative audits on safety related documentation and enters into databases
• Assists managers and supervisors during major project work and annual shutdowns
You have:
• EH&S experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Advanced Computer skills with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, etc.)
• Solid understanding of facilitating a successful EH&S program
• Ability to present to team members
• Must be proactive, enthusiastic, and demonstrate ability to work in an industrial facility.
• Possess exceptional communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
Compensation Package:
• The salary range for this position may vary depending on experience, education, and location. The annual salary range is between $82,000 - $97,500.
